On my way to Shaw Island this morning on the inter-island ferry when we came across this log raft just off of Point Hudson and the Shaw Island ferry terminal]]></description>

This was once an every day occurance. San Juan Island use to have a natural deposit of gravel that was extracted and hauled up to the Frazier River in Vancouver BC. The gravel pit was one of the largest employers in the Islands for years. How things have changed.]]></description>
