I lived in Maple Falls on the Mt.Baker Hwy in the late 70′s/early 80′s and I still sleep in my Mt. Baker T shirt. I now live in Nashville, Tn but my kids and g’children live in Seattle and I can’t stand it any longer. I am coming back to live on the San Juan’s as soon as I can make all the arrangements for such a big move at this time of my live. When I was 30 it seemed like there was nothing I couldn’t do. It takes a little longer to do things now. Thanks for this beautiful photo! Would love to have it as my screen saver.
Happy New Year to all those lucky enough to be in the San Juan’s. This has bee a year of great hope for this Nashville girl who is working everyday to realize my dream of relocating to the Islands. I have had this beautiful photo of Mt. Baker on my screen saver and every morning start my day with Mt. Baker looking back at me when I open my laptop. Thanks to this photo blog along with the other island related websites I continue to be inspired to realize my dream.

I am coming to Orcas for a visit next week and can hardly wait. I will be in Seattle with my son and his family and we are all coming to Moran State Park. I’m so excited that I am not able to concentrate on the things one does before taking a trip because I am too busy making a list of the things I want from Pike Place Market, ie: Le Panier, Sotto Voce and my annual visit to Sur la Table. Can’t wait for that ferry crossing and my first view of the islands.
