From our vantage point on the west side of San Juan Island were looking across the Haro Straits into Victoria. Our little Island has a year around population of 7500 and 11 miles away a half a million people are just on the other side of the border

Purchased in 1979 by The Nature Conservancy, this 11 acre Island is open year around from 10 am to 4 pm daily. Groups of more than 6 require permission (360) 343-4344 ext 345. You will find more than 50 species of wildflowers….

Another shot taken last week when we launched our work boat “Strictly Business” for the upcoming season. In this photo we are headed south out of Mosquito Pass and going around Henry Island, just to make sure all is running smoothly. Currently we are moored in Roche Harbor.

It use to be the best rides at Disneyland were “E” tickets. I don’t know if they still are, but this our version. Kenmore Air out of Lake Union in downtown Seattle to the San Juans is an over the top experience, literally.

Posey Island is located just off the northwest end of Pearl Island. For use by human powered boats only, kayaks, etc. Posey is 1.09 acres in size and has 3 camp sites. Just a short paddle from Roche Harbor and another short paddle out to where the Orca whales frequent.

We just launched our work boat this morning. “Strictly Business” is back in the water. This shot was taken looking north as we were heading south in Mosquito Pass. Henry Island is on the left with San Juan on the right.
