Westerly Views

Westerly Views

Unobstructed views across the Haro Straits to Victoria BC. Spectacular sunsets, shipping traffic and views around the clock with the city lights at night.

About 3 miles out of Friday Harbor on my way to an appointment I had to pull over and get this shot. Taken through the drivers side window, I was close enough I didn’t want to roll down the window in fear of disturbing the moment. This was cool.

Overlooking San Juan Valley

Beyond San Juan Valley is San Juan Channel, Lopez Island and Whidbey Island. I can’t wait to come back when the Cascade Mountains and Mt. Rainier are in view. Although this isn’t too bad.

Kayaking anyone?

Looking out across Carter Beach and San Juan Channel to Shaw Island in the background. Wonderful kayaking in this area.

Leonard has left us and the glory days of the fishing on the Salmon Banks are just a distant memory.

Just leaving Roche Harbor heading into Friday Harbor when I ran across this spectacular sight. I’ve been here 35 years and you still get excited when these moments happen. Please view the previous video to take it all in.

On my way back to town from Roche Harbor around 5 PM and Scott has set the table with what appears to be a full meal deal.
